Flexibility of Pace: Never the Standard

We keep moving the deadline because it feels like kindness. The world we send our scholars into offers no such mercy. Drawing on my experience teaching first-year and master's scholars at the University of Delaware, and the high school I founded to build what I saw missing, here is why flexibility of pace is never flexibility of standard, and how any school can hold both grace and a high bar at once.
